20 Tips For Easy Ad Writing!

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Follow these tips to get your ads to produce the results you need to help build your online business.

1. Your ads should arouse the readers curiosity provoking them to click on your ad to get more information. Remember that people will respond to your ad if they can identify with what you are advertising.

2. Keep your ad limited to the number of words allowed for the type of advertising you are using, such as ezine ads, classified ads, etc. Do not go over the limit or your ad may be cut off, making it appear unprofessional.

3. Make sure your ad contains lots of white space, easy to read fonts, and clear graphics or pictures.

4. Your title or heading is the determining factor whether your ad gets read. People have been exposed to tons of ads on the internet so be aware of how your ad is presented. Your headline should be appealing to the reader and offer some benefit.

5. When creating your headline keep it short and be specific. Reveal exactly what is in your ad. Avoid over used words like free, money, etc.

6. A good way to attract attention to your ad is by using quotation marks and quoting someone in your headline.

7. Try using How to, Last chance, Now!, Amazing, Announcing, and others in your headline. They worked in the past and will pull in readers for you now.

8. Using action words in your headline or asking a question will help to catch the readers attention. Try and make them no longer then 7 words.

9. Always have a web page set up other then your main web page for your visitors to go to once they read your ad. This will allow you to target the information for specific ads. It will also make your visitors feel that they are special to you because the web page relates to the ad they saw.

10. By setting up a specific page for your ad you will be able to track how it is doing. Testing your ads will determine which ones to continue using and which to trash.

11. To help you write ads that get results do some research by looking at other ads. Ask yourself, what caught my attention? What did not catch my attention?

12. Target your ads. Know before you get started what you want to promote. The more focused your ad the better the response.

13. Offering something free in your ad will usually catch the readers attention. You could offer a free e-book, article or something related to your ads topic.

14. People will not read ads that are long. Use descriptive words and just say what your offering, pique the readers curiosity.

15. Everyone knows that you should not use all caps. Why? It makes the ad hard to read and is considered yelling.

16. Do not forget to include your website and an email address in your ad. You should always end your ad by telling the reader how to respond. Keep it simple and easy.

17. One reason for poor responses is because people do not proof read their ads. Make sure your contact information works!

18. Testing your ads can be very helpful in finding one that works. Revise and test your ad until you get it right. Test one ad at a time so you know which one is working and where it is working from. Even though it may take more time and effort, try to set up a web page for your ad and track the responses through your pages statistics.

19. A good ad will create an emotional desire for your reader to do more. This desire could be to make more money, have better work habits, etc. Make your readers feel something and they will want to get more information for your offer.

20. The more experience you gain in writing ads the more you should pay attention to how ads are being written by other people. The best ads come from people who pay attention to what others are writing. Every time you see a good ad, write it down, save it. Pull out these ads when looking for new ideas and analyze them, figure out why they work. You must stay up to date with the ad writing methods that are currently being used and with what is working and not working.

To summarize you have to first grab the readers attention, then interest them with something appealing while raising their desire for your offer. Last, demand that they act immediately. The action you want the reader to take should be easy to do and clearly stated.

Writing ads is one of the most important tasks that you will do for your online business. If you have the ambition to succeed and keep practicing then people will start contacting you to find out about your opportunity and you will succeed!

And The Search Goes On

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I think most if not all of us have been there. Only a couple of evenings ago I was helping my daughter with her school homework and as we often do we were using the Internet to help with her studies and to cover my lack of knowledge on the subject.

For years now the Internet has been my saviour when helping my children with their studies. Maybe the kids are learning things I didnt or its just that the years have muddled my mind and I dont remember studying these particular subjects.

But lets get to the point. Like I was saying I was helping my daughter with her studies and using the Internet as a reference point. But it all seems to have gone to pot. Maybe its the rush by everyone to try to make some money from promoting other people sites or I have missed some major upheaval on the Internet.

Every search we carried out just seemed to take us from link to link and in some instances to sites that had no content whatsoever but were entirely filled with links to other sites that in turn were linked to other sites. It seems to me that the Information Highway is suffering from a major snarlup. The mother of all traffic jams is choking the life out of the Internet.

Our ability to search is being threatened by dollar hungry vultures whose only reason for existance is to carry links. Its worse than I had at first thought. Searches are taking longer and longer and the content of some sites is abissmal or non existant.

We are been drowned in a sea of unneccesary bilge and its choking the life out of the greatest invention of the twentieth century. These people and their sites are serving no purpose whatsoever and they are causing chaos on the highway.

If you were walking down the road in a strange town trying to get to a particular place and everyone you spoke to gave you different directions which continually sent you round in circles never to reach your destination would you be a little annoyed. Well I was. What can we do. What is the answer to the increasing amount of diversions we encounter everytime we try to search the Internet.

Would a return to the Good Old Days be the answer or am I just getting old and grumpy. I dont think I am getting grumpy. Old I cant control but grumpy I dont think so.

It cant just be me who experiences this frustrating trend of websites that have no function except to carry links to other websites that have no function that eventually leeds you away from your search and lands you on a hard porn site which is far from pleasant for me never mind my young daughter sat by my side.

I dont think controls are the answer. There are already too many controls in our daily lives and the Internet is often like a breath of fresh air where people can say what they wish and if they choose to watch hardcore porn they can. But I dont choose to watch this kind of material and I certainly dont wish to be led to it in a roundabout fashion whilst trying to help my ten year old complete her homework assignment.

Maybe another type of search system is the answer. A system where this wont be a problem. Where if you click on a link to a site then the site is where you arrive without going on a tour of the Internets red light districts.

Nice Site, Shame Nobody Will See It

Monday, February 26th, 2007

Like all the best ideas, it came to you in a flash, a moment of pure inspiration and you just knew it couldn’t fail. Your idea for the next big thing, the product or program that will take the Internet by storm, make you famous online and earn you a fortune in the process.

Does all this sound familiar. It should, because this is where it all starts, that momentary flash of inspiration that ha ha moment.

This is just the beginning. You’ve got your idea, now you have to do your research to discover if by any remote chance, amongst all the millions of Internet users, if your idea is a genuine first or have thousands of others had the same brainwave and started the race to the top without you. The chances are that the latter is the case and you are not alone with this world changing idea.

So how do you get the edge and push your site and your version of this product or information to the top and ensure that if any sales are to result from this idea, that it’s you who should benefit and not the other guys.

The answer is in your marketing efforts. It’s your dedication to marketing and promoting your site that will eventually bring the desired results.

Where do you start, maybe do a search on Google for marketing tools. Lets look at the results you might obtain and then decide where this course of action will lead.

At the time this article was being written Google search results for Marketing Tools returned 153 million results. What do you do and how do you decide which of these 153 million results are right for you and your site. It’s an impossible situation and no matter how much research you carry out, how many testimonials from satisfied customers you read, you can’t make a decision which way to proceed.

You turn to your email in box, and you discover a plethora of what promises to be the latest marketing tools being promoted by the Internet Gurus. But who are these people and what makes them experts, are they telling you the truth or are they simply after your hard earned cash, you don’t know, not for sure. But, you have to do something, you’ve spent all that money having your website built and now you want the world to see it and the fantastic product it contains.

Feeling dejected and confused you turn to the tried and tested methods such as Search Engine Optimization, Ad words and Ad sense. Because, after all, isn’t this the way everyone does it, and if you stick at it won’t you eventually get to the top of the search results and enjoy all the hits and sales that go hand in hand with this magical position.

Maybe, but if we look at it logically and this is where most of us fall down, we look at it with rose tinted glasses and we do this because, this is ours, this is mine, I know there is a market and my site looks fantastic so move over everyone else, I’m on my way.

It’s at this point that we all fail to realize that all the millions of other site owners out there are doing exactly the same. For the search criteria for your site, and your keywords there are only so many top spots available and the competition is fierce, very fierce.

What do you do now, where do you go and how do you achieve your goal. The competition is overwhelming and you can’t see a way forward that won’t break your advertising bank or worse still, bankrupt you and leave your beautiful new site and your fantastic product lost within the billions of other search results that nobody will ever get to see. It’s at this point that despair sets in and you feel totally deflated, there doesn’t appear to be a way through all this, there isn’t a clear route to the top.

This may have been the case in the past, but now there is light to be found at the end of the tunnel and that light is in the form of the Search Sub Engine.

A Search Sub Engine, now that’s a new one. We haven’t heard of that one before, so what is it and how can it help with our marketing efforts and serve to reinstate our faith in the Internet.

As far as I’m aware at the time of writing there is only one Search Sub Engine and it hasn’t even gone live yet, not until 7th March 2007. That said, when it does go live what can it do for us and will it give us that all important edge over the competition.

A Search Sub Engine is a system which we can use to list our sites. It works by rotating your site over a set period of up to 28 days. During which time your listing gradually reaches the No1 position for your search criteria. Unlike the standard Search Engine which relies on Keywords, Meta tags, Content and Search Engine Optimization, the Search Sub Engine is a fair for all marketing tool which, regardless of your position with the Search Engines, will allow your site to reach No1, and on a regular basis.

The Search Sub Engine has been designed as a fair system. There is no way that anyone with a large advertising budget can benefit over those of us who haven’t got such funds available. Nor does it allow any forms of outside advertising such as, Ad words, Ad sense or any other form of paid for oneupmanship. It promises to to get the job done without the usual bias towards the big guy with the endless budget, and allow the independent site owner the opportunity to achieve a higher search rating than he is ever likely to with any standard Search Engine.

Having said that, it is new, and regardless of how much research has been carried out, it is basically untried as yet, so it still remains to be proven. The idea behind it is definately a winner and it can only be good for everyone regardless of your Search Engine rating or your experience. This system is setting new levels of fairness on the Internet and allowing everyone to finally get their site seen.

What you do with this opportunity is up to you and your marketing strategy, but surely, anything that can make our online lives easier is worth the benefit of the doubt, even more so when it’s free.
